Welcome to the Swiss MD-PhD Association !

INTRODUCTION
The Swiss MD-PhD Association (SMPA) is a non-profit organization of physician-scientists including the alumni of the «Swiss MD-PhD program».
The «Swiss MD-PhD program» has been founded by the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS) and the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) and is supported by a number of private foundations. The «Swiss MD-PhD program» provides scholarships to persue MD-PhD studies at one of the five Swiss medical faculties that have implemented MD-PhD programs.

FOUNDATION
The Swiss MD-PhD Association (SMPA) was officially founded in Basel on the 21st of June 2003.

AIMS
- Encouragement of scientific exchange
- Representation of corporate interests
- Representation of occupational interests of MD-PhDs and physician-scientists in Switzerland
- Promotion of international contact between MD-PhD programs
