Open Content

Open Content is a copyleft philosophy adopted from the very successful Open Source movement in software development. Very generally it means covering ones work with a copyright that grants everyone to do vitrually everything with it as long as proper credit is given. And that is, in fact, the main philosophy of scientific publishing. Therefore it is not astonishing that the Open Content movement is catching on especially in the scientific community.
